SCREENING OF DOCUMENTARY: November 6

A Place at the Table: African-Americans on the Path to Sainthood is a documentary sharing the stories of holy men and women of color who are in the process of elevation to sainthood. St. Elizabeth will screen the two-hour documentary after 10:00 am Mass on Sunday, November 6. The parish will serve refreshments and discuss the movie. The documentary screening is in honor of November’s Black Catholic History Month. There are six incredible black men and women on the path to Canonization are: Venerable Pierre Toussaint • Servant of God Mother Mary Lange • Venerable Henriette Delille • Venerable Fr. Augustus Tolton • Servant of God Julia Greeley • Servant of God Sr. Thea Bowman

ANNUAL BLACK CATHOLIC RETREAT:  November 11-12

The Office for Black Catholics of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond is offering its annual spiritual retreat from Friday, Nov. 11, 5 p.m., through Saturday, Nov. 12, 4 p.m., at the Roslyn Retreat Center, 8727 River Road. Single Overnight fee is $55, Double overnight is $100, Commuters $20. FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP: November 8

Faithful Citizenship encourages people of faith to exercise their rights and duties as participants in our democracy. November 8 is a Virginia General Election. Early voting began on September 23. Other key deadlines are coming up fast. Did you know that Virginia now offers Same Day Voter Registration? The General Assembly approved
letting eligible voters to register at any time, up to and including Election Day. You show up at your polling location, register to vote in-person and cast a provisional ballot. SPEAKER SERIES: Nov 9

The Deacon Charles Williams Speaker Series on Racial Healing will host Msgr. Walter Barrett, Interim Director of the Office for Black Catholics. His topic is “Praise Be Jesus Christ: My testimony as an African-American priest in the Catholic Diocese of Richmond. The program is 6:30 pm Mass, 7:00 Dinner in Parish Hall, 7:30 pm Presentation, 8:00 pm Q&R. There is no charge. RSVP by November 6 on Eventbrite.
