BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Wednesday, Feb 8, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Deacon Charles Williams (1951–2022) Speaker Series: The speaker for Black History Month is Sister Cora Marie Billings. Her presentation is “May I Present Some Black Women Religious.” The evening will begin with Mass at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner in the parish hall. The presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. with Q&A and discussion finishing at 8:30pm. You can live stream the event on the Facebook Page of the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. You do not need to register or be a member of Facebook to watch the livestream.

Sunday, Feb. 19, 11:15 am, join us for a showing of the video “Memory Project 1969:”
The video is the story of the closing of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Van de Vyver School. The video will feature interviews with members of St. Elizabeth who lived the St. Joseph and Van de Vyver experience.

Saturday, Feb. 18, 2 – 5 pm is the St. Elizabeth’s Fashion Show: This is a Centennial event on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 2 pm to 5 pm in the Parish Hall. The spotlight will shine on our own parishioners! Watch as they “Strut Their Stuff” down the fashion runway, others will engage us in “Some Enchanted Evening, “ and another will perform a “Delightful Dance.” Relax, have a sip, and take a bite with new friends and old.

Wednesday, Feb 22, Ash Wednesday: Distribution of Ashes at Noon and Ash Wednesday Mass with distribution of ashes at 6:00 pm.

SOUPER BOWL SUNDAY

For Super Bowl Sunday on February 12, bring bagged rice, red beans, and kidney beans for our food pantry. Food donations will be collected after Mass.

PRESENTATION ABOUT WILLS AND ESTATES

“Get Your Affairs In Order” is a seminar to give you information on wills, trusts, Catholic advance medical directives, funeral and burial planning, and legacy planning. This is a free, informational-seminar. Join us after 10 a.m. Mass on Sunday, March 5.
