ST. ELIZABETH CHOIR CELEBRATION – Sunday September 24 

Still Praising, 45 Years of Lifting our Voices Through Song is a celebration of the 45th Anniversary of the St. Elizabeth Gospel Choir. It is Sunday, September 24th at 4pm in the church. Former choir members will return to the church for a spectacular performance. This event is part of the parish’s Centennial Celebration.

SECOND COLLECTION FOR CATHOLIC SCHOOLS – Sunday, September 24th & October 1st

St. Elizabeth’s has very close relationships with All Saints Catholic School and Christo Rey Richmond Catholic High School. At the 10am Mass on September 24th, Scott Meadows, the principal of All Saints Catholic School will briefly speak about the mission and work of the school.

FRIENDS OF THE POOR WALK – September 30

FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP

This election year, St. Elizabeth is joining faith communities throughout the region to honor the sacred privilege of voting. We will be part of the 100 Percent Voting Congregations with Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy. VICCP, a 501c3 organization, does not endorse or work for candidates or political parties, and does not collaborate with political parties. BLESSING OF ANIMALS & CHILDREN OF GOD MASS – Sunday, October 1

On Sunday, October 1st we will bless the Animals in honor of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Don’t bring your pet to church. Instead bring a picture of your pet. Write your name and your pet’s name on the back of the photo. When you come to church, put the picture in the designated basket! Also at Sunday Mass, we will celebrate the end of the Season of Creation. We invite all children to dress up as bumble bees, fish, bugs, insects or butterflies on that Sunday. PRAYER, STUDY, & ACTION FOR ADDRESSING CLIMATE CHANGE

Saint Elizabeth is offering an Eco-Justice Series Program from JustFaith Ministries of Louisville, KY, “Sacred Air: Climate and Energy,” to explore the impact of the climate crisis and equip people of faith to respond. There will be eight 2-hour sessions on Zoom, all to be held throughout the fall, dates & times to be determined by group consensus.. Sessions will include: Prayer & Reflection, Discussion of Assigned Readings, Videos/Group Activities, Spiritual Practices, and Integration of Faith. Limit 12 participants. DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE – October 21

The Eucharistic Diocesan Pilgrimage will be on October 21st, 2023. Pilgrims will be invited to talks, tours, Eucharistic Procession, Adoration, Music and Mass with Bishop Knestout, all at the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. Registration is free but you must register before October 13th, 2023. There will be bus transportation to the shine leaving the Diocesan Pastoral Center at 7am on October 21st. Bus seats are limited so please register as soon as possible if you are interested in transportation to the Shrine.
