Update from July meeting with the Mayor

St. Elizabeth joined RISC to fight for more funding for housing. Here is the latest from the Mayor.
Mayor Levar Stoney posted on his public Facebook page: “According to CNBC, 1 in 3 tenants in Virginia are at risk of eviction. We MUST invest in affordable housing and housing stability. Support is the priority right now. The city has invested $6M in emergency funds for the Eviction Diversion program, which will help these families in crisis. Council President Newbille and I are asking Judge Hicks to issue a 60-day eviction moratorium. This time is vital to ensure we’ve expanded our capacity to get this funding to those who need it for rent relief and to avoid eviction.”
