CELEBRATING FIRST COMMUNION
On the first Sunday of May, seventeen of our children received their First Communion. Congratulations to Thomas, Fadhili, Ashlay, Gus, Bishop, Gabriel, Jeanson, Ignacio, Aaron, Sela, Zelda, Anjolie, Arianne, Lesby, Emely, Emanuella Grace, and Cynthia!
Thank you to all of their parents who have worked with them on formation at home as well as bringing them to class. Special Thanks to Liz Wiznerowicz and Denise Letendre for leading First Communion classes for all of these children. Thank you to Erin Cleary made sure every child had something beautiful to war! Lastly, thank you to Barbara Williford for supplying the cake for the reception.
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, May 12
On May 12th, after the 10am Mass, save the date for the celebration of Sr. Mary Mwangi’s 30th Anniversary of her profession of religious vows to the Sisterhood.
UPDATE ON 2024 JAZZ FESTIVAL
We will return to our usual date for the Jazz Festival: Saturday, August 3rd, 2024. (There was a schedule conflict with another Richmond festival on the same day.) If you are a business or restaurant, you can sponsor or be a vendor at the all-day music festival. Contact the parish office for details.
DATE CHANGE FOR CREATION EVENT, Thursday, May 23
St. Elizabeth Catholic Church’s Creation Care Team is offering a 1-hour interactive program in observance of the ninth anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si: On Care for Our Common Home. This program, “Healing Our Throwaway Culture: A Focus on Plastics,” produced by the Catholic Climate Covenant, will take place on Thursday, May 23, from 7pm-8pm on Zoom. SOCCER CLINIC
First Touch Sports will be hosting a FREE soccer clinic for kids ages 5-18 years old. Coach Daye will be in contact with you once he knows how many kids are interested and their ages. Sign up on the sheet on the kiosk at the front of the church or email the office, [email protected].
