The Bishop Keane Institute invites you to join us at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hampton for “Why Black Catholic History Matters,” with Dr. Shannen Dee Williams on Saturday, January 21, 9am-Noon. Dr. Williams is the author of Subversive Habits: Black Catholic Nuns in the Long African American Freedom Struggle. Tickets are $20 per person. DAY OF REFLECTION FOR BLACK CATHOLICS
With resources from the National Black Catholic Congress, St. Elizabeth’s will have a Day of Reflection for Black Catholics on Sat., Jan. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with lunch provided. This will be a time to come together and pray, reflect, share, and strategize for the future. We are seeking donations of hygiene items as well as food donations of rice, beans, unexpired canned goods, as well as visa grocery store gift cards for perishable items. Please leave donations in the designated box in the front of the church.
