St. Elizabeth & RISC to take on gun violence

On October 28, over 250 people of faith from 17 different Richmond area congregations gathered at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Jackson Ward. It was the annual Community Problems Assembly organized by RISC — Richmonders Involved to Strengthen our Communities. St. Elizabeth, with 38 in attendance, had the largest delegation of all. After hearing personal testimonials on local problems, the congregations voted on one issue for 2020. They chose gun violence (prevention & reduction). The next step is a research kickoff meeting on Tuesday, November 19, 6:30 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 216 W. Leigh Street.
